Here are some Christian realities!

Posted by tfheringer on June 23, 2008

Most people now and that includes evangelical Christians have adopted the position that the Bible is not trustworthy. Problem is that for the serious Christian the Bible not only contains the answers, but the questions as well and is the answer to all of life’s difficult questions.

(1) The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation and eternal life, this completely contradicts the spirit of this world. Most evangelical Christians have been fooled into believing that there is more then one way. However, what did Jesus have to say about it, because that is what counts. The first realities is that The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way as well as being the only source of truth and life. The Lord Jesus Christ is the creator as well and this makes creationism the only choice for a Christian anything else makes Jesus a liar.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (Joh 14:6)

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
(Joh 1:3)

(2) Bible doctrine is absolutely essential, the Bible must be put back into the place of importance that it once enjoyed. We need to retake our seminaries and Bible colleges and re institute the doctrinal beliefs that once made Protestant Churches the bulwark of the faith. In order to do this we must accept that the Bible is “Sola Scriptura“, inerrant and authoritative in all mater’s of faith and practice. This includes the fact that the Bible’s statements concerning the origin of the earth and heavens is a fact. Lets start by rejecting the theory of evolution. Take back our Universities and the halls of congress as well. Do not elect any person who claims to be a Christian, but is obviously not (Obama). Prayer in our schools would be another way to do this and put the Ten Commandments back in the place in our public buildings that they belong.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
(2Ti 3:16)
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
(2Pe 1:21)

(3) Reclaim the family and the home, this one has to start with Christians. They need to start setting the example. Laws that permit and condone open sin need to be repealed. The entertainment industry needs to clean up its act. Burn all pornography, some consider the Bible pornography, but they are wrong about that, because the Bible puts Sin at the place of judgment where it belongs. The Bible is just honest about how human beings really are.

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
(1Ti 1:9)
For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
(1Ti 1:10)
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
(Rom 1:26)

And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
(Rom 1:27)

(3) God’s design and ministry for the church has nothing to do with seeker type ministries. Or even the purpose driven type of ministries. The church exists to train believers in true spirituality and build them up in the faith, so that they can seek out those whom God will save. It is not a place for the church to envite thousands of people to be entertained. This whole idea of using the House of God to tickle the fancies of this lost and Godless generation sickens my heart. Those that are doing this to the church will find their part in the judgment.

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
(Eph 4:11)

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
(Eph 4:12)

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
(Eph 4:13)

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
(Eph 4:14)

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
(Eph 4:15)

From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
(Eph 4:16)

(4) In New Testament times believers where called saints. It is just another innovation that makes saint hood something installed on another human being, even if that human being in actuality was not saved. All those throughout history and living today who are really Christians are saints, no church needs to recognize it. What needs to be done on the part of today’s saints is the practice of purity and Godly living. We need to start separating ourselves from the ungodly and draw a line in the sand just as Joshua did. Who will be on the Lord’s side. We need to start separating the sheep from the goats and swine.

Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
(1Co 1:2)
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
(Jos 24:15)

And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;
(Jos 24:16)

For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:
(Jos 24:17)

And the LORD drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the LORD; for he is our God.
(Jos 24:18)

And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.
(Jos 24:19)

If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.
(Jos 24:20)

And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD.
(Jos 24:21)

And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.
(Jos 24:22)

Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel.
(Jos 24:23)

And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.
(Jos 24:24)

So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.
(Jos 24:25)

And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the LORD.
(Jos 24:26)

And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.
(Jos 24:27)

(5) Believer we need to get back to basics as Christians. This means to stop copying the things of this world and pasting them into the church. The church is not a business and it does not belong to you, you are the body of Christ you belong to Him. He paid the price for your redemption and nailed your sins to the cross. This means having to live a life of purity as discussed before. It means putting aside the unfruitful works of darkness. It means becoming a separated people again and this time sticking to it. It means having a right spirit in your dealings with this world. At the same time we are a separated people we are also showing the love of Christ to the neighbors around us.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
(1Co 6:19)

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
(1Co 6:20)
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
(2Co 6:14)

And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
(2Co 6:15)

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
(2Co 6:16)

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
(2Co 6:17)

And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
(2Co 6:18)

We need a new evangelical fervor and mission to turn this world around, but It can only come when we are in obedience to HIM.

There is Only One Faith and Doctrine

Posted by tfheringer on June 5, 2008

There is this persistent teaching today, that says Christians ought to open armed and acceptible to other religions. After all they say we really worship the same God and are brothers. Is this really true? There is also a practice of religion without Biblical authority. What this means is we no longer have to resort to scripture to tell us what to believe and how to live, just have faith in something and that is enough. Many seem to have little or no knowledge of the Bible the infallible book by which Christians in times long past have resorted to for a rule of life. Does the bible say that we can believe anything we want to and that God will accept it? Or is God a little bit more specific then that:

“Mat 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. “

Our Lord said, that those who follow Him will find himself in disagreement with their own family. This is the beginning point of division becoming a believer a real believer in Christ it makes you a member of God’s family and sets you at variance not only with your own family, but humanity as a whole. The Bible is very specific as opposed to being very open minded about who has the right belief.

“(Mat 7:14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

The way to heaven is actually very narrow anything that suggests another way of making it to heaven is completely absent. If there had been more then one way to make it to heaven then the bible would have said something about it.

(Act 4:10) Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

(Act 4:11) This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

(Act 4:12) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

(Act 4:13) Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”

In the scriptures instead of finding a very subjective man made faith we find just the opposite a very objective faith, based on a very select set of doctrine. The religious authorities of the Lord Jesus day put Him to death, because he preached a doctrine that was not the one they wanted to hear. That teaching was that men must believe in Jesus Christ or face judgement in front of God’s judgement seat in the future. There is no salvation and, that is what’s important, anywhere else but at the foot of the cross and the open tomb. Christianity is a propositional faith, based on the doctrine of scripture. The road that leaves from the cross is a very narrow one, with a very set faith in God’s inspired Word.

The testimony of the New Testament was that believers were marked as having been with Jesus. Once you have confessed Christ there is nothing else you need and you find that you must tell others about Him.

If this is devisive then so be it. If it is dangerous, then so be it. If it leads to martyrdom then so be it. I have known Him for better then 49 years and have never known Him to desert me. I will not back down on this.

What has brought me to this is the so called interfaith movement of Tony Blair. He has in effect called all true believers in Jesus Christ as being dangerous. That makes me dangerous, watch out maybe God will make you a believer, then you will also be dangerous. This is not the first time that it was dangerous to become a Christian, in fact it has always been dangerous, it demands a changed life and atitude.

What is Higher Criticism?

Posted by tfheringer on June 1, 2008

There has been a sustained atack on the validity of the Bible as God inspired. The whole point that liberalism is trying to make is that the bible is just a book and not a very good one at that. We have been defending the scriptures now for over 150 years, maybe a little more then that. Primarily there has been an attempt to prove that Genesis was not written by Moses, but was written by a series of authors and then put together. This actually has no basis whatwoever in history and is entirely an artifical creation.

from…Fundamentalists

What is the meaning of the Higher Criticism? Why is it called higher? Higher than what? At the outset it must be explained that the word “Higher” is an academic

term, used in this connection in a purely special or technical sense. It is not used in the popular sense of the word at all, and may convey a wrong impression to the ordinary man. Nor is it meant to convey the idea of superiority. It is simply a term of contrast. It is used in contrast to the phrase, “Lower Criticism.”

One of the most important branches of theology is called the science of Biblical criticism, which has for its object the study of the history and contents, and origins and purposes, of the various books of the Bible…more
